inertia noun /ˌɪnˈɝː.ʃə/ lack of energy; lack of desire or ability to move or change
When the Corona virus pandemic reached Berlin in March of 2020, incredulity and fear crept up inside of me. There was no shock, no single event, but slowly and steadily, news about the virus and its devastating effects on the human body broke, museums, businesses and airports closed, streets became emptier - and when they started filling again, masks and physically distant waiting lines in front of to-go-counters had appeared, then everything closed again, and so on.
In an attempt to stay sane, I started riding my bike daily through the streets of Berlin, documenting what I was otherwise only hearing in the news. Under the hashtag #strangetimesinberlin, I started relating what I saw to what was being reported. The project is ongoing.
